List of installed programs

The programs are installed on Linux- and Alpha- powered computers. The list is sorted
alphabetically in the descending order.
Big program packages like DALTON or MOLCAS are installed in /pkg
directory.
The list is known to be incomplete
Linux programs
- gimp
- General raster image processing program.
- Kerberos 4.0
- Kerberos authentication suite v 4.0. It is used for example when
logging in to PDC supercomputer center.
- latex
- Typesetting environment.
- matlab
- Matrix laboratory. Powerful and big. Version 6.0, just type matlab
- dalton
- Use the DFT version compiled in /pkg/dalton/dft-qr
- molden
- Program for drawing molecules. Version 3.7 in /pkg/molden/3.7
- gaussian 03
- /pkg/gaussian - PBS script and compilation by Olav.
- soffice
- Star Office -
powerful and comprehensive office suite that integrates the tools
organizations need to be effective and productive. With StarOffice you
have the power to communicate your ideas, produce high quality
documents, analyze corporate information, and collaborate with
colleagues. The right tool for conversion of annoying MS-files to
anything readable.
- tkrat
- Mail user agent. Version 1.2 (RH7.x boxes have tkrat-2.0).
- gnumeric
- spreadsheet program, not as good as Excel, but it helps
- xmgrace
- General plotting program (very good for one-dimensional plots).

- molcas
- /pkg/molcas
- spartan
- powerful program for building and modifying molecular structures.
It is installed on xi and maintained by Fahmi.
- ladebug
- An Alpha debugger of apparently similar capabilities to gdb.
- dxladebug
- /usr/bin/X11/dxladebug is a Motif interface to latebug.
